Thanksgiving
I made a looping Blender render for Thanksgiving.
I wanted to try creating something that I could have looping on the TV for the holiday, and thought maybe a kitchen prepped for serving food might be a good place to start. The actual animation is a little over a minute long, and it just loops over and over for an hour.
It took three days to render all 2130 frames across three different machines – mostly because I had no idea how to optimize the render settings. After the render was complete I realized I'd introduced some artifacts, where the light appears to flicker on the pumpkin with a knife and note stuck in it. This was because some frames were rendered without the back wall present, allowing the global scene light in. Some frames were duplicated and added in by mistake, causing a flicker.
I also ran into issues where the camera started outside of the actual room box I had constructed. This ended up costing me hours of wasted rendered frames that were almost entirely black. Oof.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out though, and learned a lot about what to do and what not to do for the future.
